I used nvidia-settings to generate a working TwinView xorg.conf which I then saved to /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d. But virtually each time I boot, X duplicates the screens rather than creating one large TwinView screen. When I rerun nvidia-settings as root I can get a dual TwinView display.

Here are xorg.conf and Xorg.0.log.

Any hints on creating a persistent TwinView configuration will be gratefully received.

Evidently xorg.conf keywords are case-insensitive so, apparently, it's something else. Also, I tried rebooting with the capital M's and had the same problem: sometimes it boots into TwinView and sometimes not. Thanks for this suggestion.
