i just noticed that whenever i try to mount a cd,
the whole system freezes...and the cd reader just keeps making "searching noises" and never stops...
at first i thought it might be a scraped cd so i tried another one, and got the same results - system freezing
tried with 4 more cds, same thing...
anyone know what might be causing this?
it can read music cds properly(no need to mount those) |

Same thing here both under gnome2 and kde3.03 mounting data cd within an su'ed terminal window. System is gcc 2.95 upto date. K6-III+ at 450 mHz, 128mb voodoo3 3000 pci on an sp97v with a buslogic 950 scsi controller and a 16x teac cdrom and a 30mb 7200 rpm ide IBM hd. Also plays audio cd's fine and hardware works fine under win2k and RH 7.2 fine (triple boot).
Haven't thought about how to try and debug it yet ..... any sugestions ??
