After a few days of help with fixing stuff I missed, updating, fixing, etc. I have a beautiful Gentoo machine. I couldn't have done it without the support of the IRC =)
Before, I used to think(assume) the Gentoo support would be awful because of all the rumors I had heard about how hard Gentoo is to install. I was completely wrong.
Special thanks to these individuals on the #gentoo channel on the IRC who took their time to help me, certainly wonderful and smart individuals:

Welcome to Gentoo, B0sk0; ain't it just beautiful? :-)
You might like these tips collected over the years; I recommend reading "the basics" at least.
Bear in mind that there is a much wider world exposed to you on freenode; #bash is essential, ime, and will teach you an awful lot about the UNIX userland (as well as the implementation language for all ebuilds.)
##workingset if you want to learn build-systems (make, toolchain, autotools, cmake, etc.)
Some #gentoo-chat regulars set up #friendly-coders in 2007, so if you're stuck or getting flak, feel free to drop in. It's normally fairly quiet, especially by comparison to #bash or #gentoo. |
