Hi,

Here is interesting article:
http://news.softpedia.com/news/critical-intel-graphics-driver-bug-puts-kde-plasma-5-in-a-really-bad-light-488621.shtml

and interesting workaround:
Quote:
The good news is that a workaround for the bug is already available, and it requires you to modify the /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/20-intel.conf file from your Linux kernel-based operating system, by switching back to the older UXA acceleration method instead of the default SNA method used in many distros. Below is an example of what your 20-intel.conf file should look like if you're running KDE Plasma 5.

Does anyone tried this? Did it help in Plasma 5 & Optimus mistery?
My set up before the tests looks like:
Code:
# equery u xf86-video-intel
[ Legend : U - final flag setting for installation]
[        : I - package is installed with flag     ]
[ Colors : set, unset                             ]
 * Found these USE flags for x11-drivers/xf86-video-intel-2.99.917_p20160324:
 U I
 - - debug : Enable extra debug codepaths, like asserts and extra output. If you want to get meaningful backtraces see
             https://wiki.gentoo.org/wiki/Project:Quality_Assurance/Backtraces
+ + dri   : Enable direct rendering: used for accelerated 3D and some 2D, like DMA
 + + dri3  : Enable DRI3 support
+ + sna   : Enable SandyBridge's New Acceleration (useful on all chipsets, not just SandyBridge)
+ + udev  : Enable virtual/udev integration (device discovery, power and storage device support, etc)
 - + uxa   : Enable UMA Acceleration Architecture
 - + xvmc  : Enables X-Video Motion Compensation support

That's a really old bug, it is unlikely that you are seeing that.

More likely you are experiencing bug 572868 or bug 577566 or https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=94596.

I switched off gles & gles2 flags, so Plasma 5 (OpenGL) finally works fine with my Intel (without Nvidia).

I will try now UXA flag. Here is another interesting article:
