I have various Gentoo machines, two of which have Libreoffice installed. On one of them, Libreoffice is at 5.1.0.3 but this version gives problems on my other machine:

I have not found anything similar in the forums, the bugzilla or the internet.

Any suggestion?

Remove your custom bashrc for injecting epatch_user.

To genstorm:

As far as I can see, I do not have a custom bashrc (at least not for the root user).

Quote:
locate bashrc
/etc/bash/bashrc
/etc/bash/bashrc.d
/etc/bash/bashrc.d/.keep_app-shells_bash-0
/etc/portage/bashrc
/etc/skel/.bashrc
/home/karel/.bashrc
/usr/lib64/portage/python2.7/bashrc-functions.sh
/usr/lib64/portage/python3.4/bashrc-functions.sh
/usr/portage/app-portage/cfg-update/files/cfg-update-1.8.2-bashrc.patch
(output truncated)

To my knowledge, none of the bashrc files are changed by me (except the one in my home directory)

remove .. or rename temporarily your /etc/portage/bashrc .. there is a known problem with some epatch bashrc scripts and eutils.eclass ..

This one will likely be the culprit, and it must have been created by you (alternatively, you could check with `equery b /etc/portage/bashrc` if some package is claiming ownership). For reference: https://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=568640

Dear gentsorm, dear Derek,

Thanks for helping;

No package claims /etc/portage/bashrc. I do not recall having created it, the content does not ring a bell with me but removing the file solves the issue;
