|
|
I have setup xpad to use xbox 360 controllers and the 4 leds around the guide button continue to flash even though the controller is synced and working. I'm wondering how to rememdy the malfunctioning leds so that they reflect the connection status as happens normally.
The following is the steps taken to setup xpad:
1. Set user to input group:
gpasswd -a user input
2. Setup kernel:
Device Drivers --->
Input device support --->
<*> Joystick interface
[*] Joysticks/Gamepads --->
<*> X-Box gamepad support (xpad)
[*] X-Box gamepad rumble support
[*] LED Support for Xbox360 controller 'BigX' LED
[ ] Miscellaneous devices --->
< > User level driver support (INPUT_UINPUT)
3. Review kernel log for the following:
2/17/16 12:47 PM usb 1-10 new full-speed USB device number 3 using xhci_hcd
2/17/16 12:47 PM usb 1-10 new full-speed USB device number 4 using xhci_hcd
2/17/16 12:47 PM usb 1-10 New USB device found, idVendor=045e, idProduct=0291
2/17/16 12:47 PM usb 1-10 New USB device strings: Mfr=0, Product=0, SerialNumber=0
2/17/16 12:47 PM input Xbox 360 Wireless Receiver (XBOX) as /devices/pci0000:00/0000:00:14.0/usb1/1-10/1-10:1.0/input/input18
2/17/16 12:47 PM input Xbox 360 Wireless Receiver (XBOX) as /devices/pci0000:00/0000:00:14.0/usb1/1-10/1-10:1.2/input/input19
2/17/16 12:47 PM input Xbox 360 Wireless Receiver (XBOX) as /devices/pci0000:00/0000:00:14.0/usb1/1-10/1-10:1.4/input/input20
2/17/16 12:47 PM input Xbox 360 Wireless Receiver (XBOX) as /devices/pci0000:00/0000:00:14.0/usb1/1-10/1-10:1.6/input/input21
Kernel in use: 4.1.15-gentoo-r1
I have researched the xboxdrv possibility and it seems alot more involved than xpad and the xpad works out-of-the-box with steam so I would like to resolve the xpad issue before trying to xboxdrv route.
Thanks

I found that the flashing issue is suppose to be solved with an update for xpad in kernel 4.2. So I will report back when Gentoo stable upgrades the kernel. |

The LED's, around the guide button, now correctly signify which controller number is in use.
The recent Gentoo stable kernel upgrade to 4.4.6 has fixed the issue. |
