SLiM and plymouth

Recently I ve decided to change from lightdm to SLiM . I like the speed of SLiM compared to lightdm, but now I m having some issues with plymouth.
During boot plymouth works as usual, normal ... but during shutdown/restart it does not work anymore.
Interesting thing is that if I regenerate the initrd image and then I restart/shutdown plymouth WILL work, but only for that 1 time only.

What could it be the issue ?
