Sorry for my terrible English. I ran
Code:
sudo emerge-uDN @world
on Gentoo (an old netbook, ACCEPTED_KEYWORD = "x86", the kernel is 4.1.7 hardened-r1, and DE is Xfce4), there were listed about ~80 packages, here's their list http://pastebin.com/t130Ehgj. I had the flag FEATURES = "collision-protect" enabled, still I don't even noticed, but now the installation of packages has been dropped due to conflicts and I decided to disable this flag. After that it was installed a few packages, but I after reading man make.conf included the flag of "protect-owned", and the packages were installed. As I understand, we are talking about it: https://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic-t-1034474-start-25-postdays-0-postorder-asc-highlight-.html?sid=52c38000964595b5cb878fd0feb3297a. In the end, it was proposed to run etc-update, but I have turned off the netbook, and the next time I launched Xfce not updating the configs. From root after startx, in Xfce, all input devices are working like normal, but from normal user, neither the keyboard nor the touchpad nor the usb mouse or even the power button does not function, however if to pull out and insert the mouse it switch and starts controls pointer. Here Is Xorg.0.log from user http://pastebin.com/zdKHYYHp and to compare it from the root http://pastebin.com/g1UfH9pt. I have not the file /etc/x11/xorg.conf, maybe it was deleted during the packages installation without protection from collisions(?). What I tried to do: rebuild xorg, rebuild the drivers xorg, associated with the input(keyboard, mouse, evdev), rebuild udev, rebuild openrc. When compiling udev, it said that option
Code:
CONFIG_FHANDLE
in the kernel is not configured , and this can lead to unpredictable errors. Rebuilt the kernel with enabled FHANDLE - it did not help. Tried to remove the directory /run and reboot - did not help. And the most important thing: as root everything works, as user no! By the way, when I come out of Xfce, in the console output were visible lines like "thunar-volman not the device was found on the system path, there's a long path ending 'mouse0'". My opinion - it's like that associated with the new version of udev, but what to do - I don't know, I'm new in Linux. Please, help!

What groups does your user belong to? Please post your /etc/group and point out which user is yours.

Thanks, but they already helped me on our Russian forum https://www.linux.org.ru/forum/desktop/12283992. And do you know how this problem was solved? Switching to eudev. After that, all of the input device from the user began to work in DE.

Just wondering, would groups $user not cover what you are looking for?

I wondered if he was having permission issues because his user wasn't in the right groups. groups $user would work - I just like seeing things because it helps me help others. :)
