Have just installed an oldtimer, for some fun....Quake4.
Install went great, but the game starts up in Spanish?.
I googled, and was advised to

and my Quake4Config.cfg does indeed contain;
seta sys_lang "english"
But it still starts up in Spanish??. |

looks like you have the path wrong; i think it should be .quake4 and not quake4

Thank you for your reply......my path is correct though.
I did not install Q4 in a hidden dir in ~/. |

I notice english is default, and spanish is last in line of the additional. Why spanish then......? |

the "normal" path for user-settings is this: /home/stig/.quake4/q4base/Quake4Config.cfg
does it exist on your system? maybe the setting for spanish is still in there as default.
maybe you should not add another var at the end of the file Quake4Config.cfg but schange the original one.
also, there is be a possibility to change all the game-settings via its console.
