I got no response from the Portage forum so I will try here. In order to resolve some preserved rebuilds I have to recompile PyKDE4 but get:
Code:

/var/tmp/portage/kde-base/pykde4-4.14.3/work/pykde4-4.14.3/kpythonpluginfactory/kpythonpluginfactory.cpp: In function ‘int kdemain(int, char**)’:

     Py_SetProgramName(argv[0]);
                              ^
/var/tmp/portage/kde-base/pykde4-4.14.3/work/pykde4-4.14.3/kpythonpluginfactory/kpythonpluginfactory.cpp:360:26: error: cannot convert ‘char**’ to ‘wchar_t**’ for argument ‘2’ to ‘void PySys_SetArgv(int, wchar_t**)’
     PySys_SetArgv(1, argv);
                          ^

     pArg1 = PyString_FromString(argv[2]);
                                        ^
/var/tmp/portage/kde-base/pykde4-4.14.3/work/pykde4-4.14.3/kpythonpluginfactory/kpythonpluginfactory.cpp:354:15: warning: unused variable ‘pyLib’ [-Wunused-variable]
     QLibrary *pyLib = LoadPythonLibrary();
               ^

Obviously this worked once, so I suppose some header files have changed. I have Python 3.4 selected, do I need to upgrade maybe?

TIA
