I'm trying out gnome-extra/cinnamon. I'm liking it so far, but I've hit one problem: it can't mount flash drives. It gives me an error message: "Not authorized to perform operation". Any tips? |

I don't know about current Gnome desktops but in the early days one had to be in the "plugdev" group in order to be able to mount from the desktop without root privileges. What groups are you in (what is the output of the command "id")? |

Here are my groups:
$ id
uid=1000(piotrek) gid=1007(piotrek) grupy=1007(piotrek),4(adm),5(tty),6(disk),7(lp),10(wheel),18(audio),19(cdrom),27(video),35(games),85(usb),100(users),103(cdemu),106(lpadmin),250(portage),987(android),1002(plugdev),1013(vboxusers)
I should have added that mounting flash drives works fine in KDE. |
