I am looking into using Devel-NYTProf to debug a perl cgi application.
Looking at the docs under "Apache Profiling"
http://search.cpan.org/~timb/Devel-NYTProf-6.02/lib/Devel/NYTProf.pm
They claim:
Quote:

Just add one line near the start of your httpd.conf file:

PerlModule Devel::NYTProf::Apache

This gets me an apache error.
Code:
Invalid command 'PerlModule', perhaps misspelled or defined by a module not included in the server configuration

I am not seeing this as a use flag option for apache:
Code:
     Installed versions:  2.4.16(2){tbz2}(10:19:25 PM 08/05/2015)(ssl -alpn -debug -doc -ldap -selinux -static -suexec -threads APACHE2_MODULES="actions alias auth_basic auth_digest authn_anon authn_core authn_dbd authn_dbm authn_file authz_core authz_dbm authz_groupfile authz_host authz_owner authz_user autoindex cache cgi cgid dav dav_fs dav_lock dbd deflate dir env expires ext_filter file_cache filter headers ident imagemap include info log_config logio mime mime_magic negotiation proxy proxy_ajp proxy_balancer proxy_connect proxy_http rewrite setenvif slotmem_shm socache_shmcb speling status unique_id unixd userdir usertrack vhost_alias -access_compat -asis -authn_alias -authz_dbd -cache_disk -cern_meta -charset_lite -dumpio -lbmethod_bybusyness -lbmethod_byrequests -lbmethod_bytraffic -lbmethod_heartbeat -log_forensic -macro -proxy_fcgi -proxy_ftp -proxy_scgi -proxy_wstunnel -ratelimit -remoteip -reqtimeout -substitute -version" APACHE2_MPMS="-event -peruser -prefork -worker")
     Homepage:            http://httpd.apache.org/
     Description:         The Apache Web Server

Anyone used this, thoughts?
thanks in advance

Hi turtles
the "PerlModule" handler is available through mod_perl, which is a separate ebuild from Apache itself: https://packages.gentoo.org/packages/www-apache/mod_perl

You have to emerge it and add the appropriate "LoadModule" to your configuration
