Hi, ALL,

Code:

IgorDellGentoo wxdbexplorer_src # emerge -pv unixodbc-GUI-Qt

These are the packages that would be merged, in order:

Calculating dependencies... done!

emerge: there are no ebuilds to satisfy "unixodbc-GUI-Qt".

emerge: searching for similar names...
emerge: Maybe you meant dev-db/unixODBC?

 * IMPORTANT: 6 news items need reading for repository 'gentoo'.

Are you perhaps looking for dev-db/qt-unixODBC?

Hi, John,
Is it a GUI interface to the unixODBC? Is ODBCConfig binary part of it?

Thank you.

Thank you. Will try to check that.
But this is kind of weird. It should all be part of the same unixODBC package - either with some "gui" USE-flag or by some other means...

Is there a plan to do that?

Thank you.

Go upstream and tell them to include it.

Hi, charles17,
Why not make it as a dependency on some use flag - either "gui" or "qt"?

Thank you.

What do you mean should that USE flag do if activated? Add some functionality not provided by the package?

Hi,
Why not add the USE flag to the unixODBC, lets say "qt".
When it is on - install the GUI package, when it's off - don't.

Hi, ALL,
On the page for release 2.3.0 it is stated that the package name is "unixodbc-gui-qt".
I believe "qt-unixodbc" is a specific QT package for the unixodbc.

Trying to grep for "unixodbc-gui-qt" does not yield anything, therefore there is no download package in either portage or rayniday overlay.

Does anybody have an idea?

Thank you.
