well

it may be advised when you post config files to

post the full thing including the command to display those like

cat /etc/make.conf
....

or name the quote.

the first file seems to be make.conf

second may be package.use

---

you need to tell us more about your setup.

what is alsamixer doing? channels muted? pulseauido muted?

dmesg any related stuff?

I think something blocks your audio channel.

And becuase you do not use pulseaudio, your box porbably do not have any audio mutli channel capabilities. means only one audio sourcea allowed and first come first serve. so tis blocked.

I am quite sure you have your reason to NOT use PULSEAUDIO, correct? and you do not need the multi audio source play cababilities which pulseaudio provides than.

you should kill that process which blocks the audio source, than manually force it in wine instantly. and prevent the other audio source to occupy the audio adapter again.

as you use the bloadware kde, it could be many software pieces ...

when i run k3b very randomly, it fills up my logs with lots of warnings and error messages, and k3b blocks the audio channel if i would not have pulseaudio. i saw the other kde apps too, they fll up the log in a terminal like hell.

best choice pulseaudio, or get rid of phonon and prevent anything from using the audio adapter first.

--

you may use wine in a plain x-session, should be the fastest.

What is that lame propaganda tw04l124?
alsa have dmix from a long long time, and since not that so long time, alsa default enable dmix, meaning nobody using any .asoundrc will still have dmix enable now.

I think the only question about PULSEAUDIO should be: do you have any REAL reason to use it?

On my system the wine registry got a bit messed up. Although I had configured wine to use INTEL PCH, it actually tried to use HDMI.

My solution: I deleted everything in the wine registry with "hdmi" or "alsa" or "audio" in it including all relevant hardware keys.
On the next start of wincfg it evaluated the hardware anew. Another look into the regestry then showed that all hardware keys for audio and the association were different now. And after that, wine applications had audio again.

If you use KDE then set the priority of your sound device to top for all sources in the configuration. that helps me. dont know if that helps you. this works too for installations in the future. and maybe its better to use PlayOnLinux
