i have my root partition setup on an a raid device. I mount this as /dev/md/root as this is the name of the raid device. Even though this is a symlink to something in /dev/md/12x. The system works fine but it systemd keeps on complaining about not being able to stat the symlink.
systemd[611]: Failed to stat device node file /dev/md/root: Permission denied
Is there anyway to silence systemd?

Thanks for that tip. /dev/md is created with perms 700 and is owned by root. I didn't realize that the actual message was coming from the systemd-user thing.

What if you stick to /dev/md0 instead of /dev/md/name style?

(in your mdadm.conf, initramfs, and everywhere else)

The name style is not particularly common.

Also, mdadm.conf entries should only have '/dev/mdX UUID=a:b:c:d', not '/dev/md/X name= metadata=' etc.
