Wtf is a Gentoo distribution?
If you give away binaries to friends you'd lied to them calling that mix a Gentoo distribution.
How can any distribution be based on something non existent?
This thread is a joke.
Or is any Hubbs or Poettiring ware declared the official distribution the last days?
---
Users of non portage tree ebuilds should warn other forum members when asking questions.

ulenrich ... as I've pointed out to you many times now: an argument has a premise and a conclusion (based on the premise being shown to be valid) ... its not just a series of declarative statements intermixed with rhetorical questions.

Yes, they should, and generally do ... or its made obvious by the build.log, and other information provided (ie, 'emerge --info category/package', 'emerge -pv category/package', etc).

best ... khay

No Idea what you talk about. I suggest you try to phrase your thoughts in clear pattern.
And I hardly saw you answering any help request posts so far.
Show up answering any requests pots and do not flame / offend others. This is not off the wall, sir / madam.

The user base do not need your endless flame posts or offending post. Kindly hint to hide again in the off the wall section where you belong to when you are unable to help others.

Some take their spare time, unpaid to answer posts. and therefore those have more likely a right to phrase their thoughts in this topic as others like you, who hardly answer any posts, juding from past 3 months i never ever saw your name in any of the support requests posts answering anything, except flaming in the systemd crap topic and off the wall section.

In essence Gentoo is about to use the portage tree. No matter what the name of your derived personal distribution ...

Do you think installing "portage" gives you "the" portage tree? Because that would be terribly wrong.

I hate to see in git changelogs of the portage tree:
Code:
Package-Manager: portage-2.2..
which should not matter ...
