When I first installed Gentoo I used KDE4 for quite a while. There, I configured a custom dark theme.

I'm now running Awesome-wm and am using startx for my desktop environment and it seems some of my settings from KDE4 have carried over somehow. Maybe that's not the problem though, I really can't tell.

Here's a screenshot of QtiPlot:

There's text in every one of those boxes but you can't see that because the text is white.

Why? Why is there white text on a white background? Most other applications (e.g. the Qt-based ones) don't have this problem.

How can I fix this? I desperately need QtiPlot to complete an assignment for Monday and time is running out.

Maybe
Code:
qtconfig
command can help you.
