|
|
Having done a clean install on my laptop, going for the fresh plasma 5, I think I'm missing somehting... I installed plasma-meta, and have added konsole etc. but, I can not find kmail. Only kmail 4. I read about kde-apps 15.something, and I installed that one as well, still no kmail...
So, please, someone, enligthen me where to look. Or is it simply not around yet?
Cheers,
Micael |

You can use kmail:4 just fine, upstream released kdepim:5 in kde-applications 15.08 only as preview and so far it is to be found in kde overlay, not in tree. |

If you install kde-apps/kdepim you have to select which components to build using the new KDEPIM_FEATURES expandable variable.
So to build everything you have to add this to your /etc/portage/make.conf:
KDEPIM_FEATURES="akonadiconsole akregator blogilo console kaddressbook kalarm kleopatra kmail knotes kontact korganizer ktnef"
However, I tried out 15.08.1 and kmail5 was not able to retrieve or send anything through an IMAP account, so I daresay the new kdepim:5 is really not much more than a preview at the moment, just like genstorm said. _________________ Important German:- "Aha" - German reaction to pretend that you are really interested while giving no f*ck.

In my case, kmail-15.08 imported my existing IMAP account just fine and I use it productively. But I can live with the odd glitch happening. |
