Good day everyone,

I've got Plasma DE installed recently. Everything is working very well except moving to trash in Dolphin is not working:

Code:

Could not start process Unable to create io-slave:
klauncher said: Unknown protocol 'trash'.

I went to Dolphin's settings and under Trash settings in Dolphin it says:

Code:

The module could not be found.

The diagnosis is:
The desktop file could not be found.

I created a blank trash.desktop in my Desktop directory but that didn't help. I have no idea how to make Trash feature work. Did anybody encounter such problem also? Any workarounds or fixes?

Thanks,
Victor.

Since there is no 'Dolphin Plasma', what version of dolphin is that exactly?

Hi,

Thank you for pointing me in the right direction. I originally had Dolphin 4.14.3 which had these problems and I re-built Dolphin with version 15.08.0 and I can now move files to trash :)

Thanks again,
Victor.

Interesting. That suggests kde-apps/kdebase-kioslaves was missing on your system; would that be correct?

Hi,

Yes, exactly, kde-apps/kdebase-kioslaves was missing. Prior to my first post I installed kde-frameworks/kio when I searched online and there was some mentioning of "kio" in similar problems, I didn't know it was worth mentioning though.

Thanks,
Victor.
