Hi!
I'm trying to emerge the kde-runtime-meta, which pulls in the solid-runtime as a dependency

compilation fails with the following error:

Code:

In file included from /usr/include/NetworkManager/NetworkManager.h:29:0,
                 from /tmp/portage/kde-apps/solid-runtime-15.08.0/work/solid-runtime-15.08.0/solid-networkstatus/kded/networkmanagerstatus.cpp:31:
/usr/include/NetworkManager/nm-version.h:24:18: fatal error: glib.h: No such file or directory
 #include <glib.h>
                  ^
compilation terminated.
solid-networkstatus/kded/CMakeFiles/kded_networkstatus.dir/build.make:228: recipe for target 'solid-networkstatus/kded/CMakeFiles/kded_networkstatus.dir/networkmanagerstatus.o' failed
make[2]: *** [solid-networkstatus/kded/CMakeFiles/kded_networkstatus.dir/networkmanagerstatus.o] Error 1

What can I do?

EDIT: Any code with the "#include <glib.h>" fails to compile on my system... even the following:

Code:
kasha tmp # cat a.c
#include <glib.h>
#include <stdio.h>

main() {
  printf("ciao");
}
kasha tmp # gcc a.c
a.c:1:18: fatal error: glib.h: File o directory non esistente
 #include <glib.h>
                  ^
compilation terminated.

I've found this 10 y.o. thread https://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic-t-246829.html
the "solution" found there worked
Code:
kasha tmp # gcc `pkg-config --cflags --libs glib-2.0` a.c && echo $?
0

There is also a running bug: https://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=559892

It's triggered by a change in newer networkmanager. Workaround is to downgrade networkmanager or build solid-runtime with USE="-networkmanager", but I have a patch I will try to commit soon.

This is also affecting kde-misc/plasma-nm. I just downgraded networkmanager back to 1.0.2-r1 and was able to emerge plasma-nm.

It's easy for bug reports to get lost on the forums, but this is now fixed.

To be fair, I haven't tried the fix... I had an HW failure in the meanwhile and I had to reinstall everything from scratch :(
