Hi,

I recently did a sys update and some things changed i guess :)
Running KDE Plasma here.

After everything was done i noticed that konsole has disappeared, i couldn't start it with my shortcut or from the applications menu, i tried reinstalling unmerging and reinstalling and still it not appearing anywhere other than /user/share/apps/konsole and i can't launch it.... i emerged a different one for now but i still want to know why.

Regarding vlc it's kind of the same(tried to reinstall without success) i can't even start the GUI it crashes and disappears but if i launch it from the terminal it starts in taskbar mode and you can drag thing to it which make it open without a window manager's control and it also prints the following errors in the terminal:
Code:

x7f2118c01858] avi demux error: no key frame set for track 0
[0x7f2118c01858] avi demux error: no key frame set for track 1

konsole: 3 threads below... https://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic-t-1027956.html

Anyway, if you run plasma-5 already, you want to upgrade to konsole:5. konsole:4 with minimal flag is kept for compatibility.

Also this may be obvious but just in case: Often when moving from qt4 to qt5 applications (I've moved back and forth a few times) I have noticed I have to delete the old menu entry in favourites and replace it or else it does not work. I'm not sure about other shortcuts as I do not use those but it might be the same deal.

Thanks for the help with konsole that indeed solved the issue i'm just surprised then didn't post a warning or anything of that sort...
Also sorry for not noticing the other thread.
