lost gentoo-sources-3.18.12-gentoo

Hi,
now it is not so important, perhaps interesting,
but
do you somebody know where is lost a kernel source: linux-3.18.12-gentoo?
I am not sure how long, but in portage tree is not now...

The basic code will be on kernel.org
The Gentoo specific patches will be in one of the Gentoo kernel developers web pages.

If you really want it, you can still get all the bits.

Yes, I know it (or almost all of it)
but
a kernel is critical, fundamental part of system, not some ordinal application.
Continuity in develop such component should be more compact, I think.

I am not sure is such discontinuities in kernel develop, meaning one day is some version of kernel in portage and next day is removed can signaling some problem(s) in it.
It coluld a littlebit degradate a reliance of methodology of develop, quality assuarance and so.

Gentoo ie excelent system, i've a lot learned abou it, about Linux itself, about kernel..

I could not to star a flame about it, as I said, its interesting only...

3.18.12 is ooooold. Old kernels are removed for a reason.

There's sys-kernel/gentoo-sources-3.18.20 if you must stay at 3.18 for some reason, sys-kernel/gentoo-sources-4.2.0 is the latest one.

Gentoo actually supports a rather large amount of kernels:

https://packages.gentoo.org/package/sys-kernel/gentoo-sources

I count 31 version which are keyworded currently. And then that isn't taking into account different architectures.

Also upstream expects you to upgrade at least to the latest minor version. That is why in the stable releases there is always this verbage which is something like "all users must upgrade". It's expected that you will run 3.18.20 not 3.18.12 which upstream considers obsoleted.
