Which Firmware Blob for Radeon HD 8470D

Does anyone know with firmware blobs work for the Radeon HD 8470D. I've searched around and I don't have a diffinitive answer. Thanks.

dmesg will tell you. The driver will have tried to load it and failed.
It will list at least the first missing file name

I found no reference in dmesg, but I did find this in the Xorg log:

This was from using the Kabini blob. My kernel is 4.0.5 and the ATI card is a HD 8470D on a AMD A6-6400 APU.

Tried this: https://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic-p-7 ... ml#7113858 no joy. I'm wondering if it is the 4.0.5 kernel? I was not given a choice this is a new install and the system gave me the 4.0.5, should I downgrade my kernel and if so to what?

The text I would like to read in that log is much further up. Use wgetpaste to post the whole log.

If dmesg says nothing about firmware, it either loaded, or the driver did not get as far as to look for it.
Either way, firwware is not your problem, yet.

Fix your kernel. Maybe you did but the install was messed up?

Look at the date/time in

does that tie in with your reccolection of your most recent kernel build?
Thats the build date/time of the running kernel.

The dates do match up for the 4.0.5 kernel.

I decided to try the latest stable "3" kernel and following the instructions I was able to start X.

I will retry the the 4.0.5 kernel again once I've completed this installation.
