Once I start my laptop up, it automatically connects to a WiFi. After less than a minute, the connection dies: 'ping' freezes, then comes back with 'unknown host'. This is despite that the GNOME shows the connection as ACTIVE. I have to manually disconnect and reconnect, to get the connectivity back.

What can possibly be causing this? -Many thanks.

PS After 1 or 2 resets, I do get the connection back, and it never "freezes" again.

PPS This started after a recent update.

UPDATE (8/16): did a kernel upgrade -- from v.3.16.5 to v.3.18.16 -- and it fixed it.
