I'm trying to install XFree86 under gentoo linux, kernel 2.6 but emerge xfree fails with...

Code:

ERROR: x11-base/xfree-4.3.0-r3 failed
Function check_version_h Line 38, Exitcode 0
/usr/src/linux symlink not setup!

The mentioned symlink exists, of course.

There is also a hint about "make dep" above the errormessage. However, I can't "make dep" with the 2.6 sources, it just gives me a warning telling me that "make dep" is no longer needed for the 2.6 kernel.

This is all pretty confusing for a newbie. I could need some help here. Can I somehow just disable/override the symlink check?
