|

Hi,
I’ve just installed a gentoo laptop and I’m having trouble with xfce. I’ve installed it with `emerge -va xfce4-meta`. The first problem was that it does not look at the keyboard configuration done with Applications → Settings → Keyboard but I resolved this problem with xorg config files in /usr/share/X11/xorg.conf.d/.
My main problem is that I can’t launch an app with Alt-F2. When I have the focus on a terminal, I see ";3Q" on it. If I run `xfce4-appfinder --collapsed` directly from the terminal, I see the window. Do you have an idea on how to solve this problem?
Thanks for your help. |

First of all, did you configure the keyboard shortcut for it? Assuming you have...
What exactly did you put into /usr/share/X11/xorg.conf.d/?
alt+f2 is supposed to send CSI 24 ~ (aka ^[[
Can you give off the out of pressing alt+f2 with the focus on a terminal currently running this:
(^C to get out).
My guess would be that your keyboard is misbehaving, or that your xorg config files are causing problems.
Also, what kind of keyboard configuration are you talking about? Consider looking at the wiki if this is about keyboard layout. |
