I have the latest KDE5 installed:

KDE Apps 15.04.3
KDE Frameworks 5.12.0
KDE Plasma 5 5.3.2

This is the info for the two systems:
Gentoo ~amd64
CI7-4770 and CI7-4790
4600 HD
8 GB ram

Installed conky with the default use flags as I did for KDE4. Also I'm using KDE to autostart conky via system settings>startup and shutdown>autostart>add program>conky and using the default /etc/conky/conky.conf renamed ~/.conkyrc.
When I reboot, conky isn't displayed but if I open konsole and enter conky, conky is displayed. How can I get conky to work on reboot? I currently use the above settings for KDE4 / conky and it works fine.
Thanks

I ended up adding a delay to the conky command when it was started by KDE5:

Code:
sleep 5s && conky

This works!

Not sure why I need to do this since KDE4 amd64 doesn't require the delay only just "conky". I have the KDE5 problem on three different computers.

The recent conky upgrade to version 1.10.0 resolves the issue. Conky now works as expected, it is displayed on startup and doesn't disappear when selected. The work-around of using the "sleep 5s && conky" is no longer needed.
