|
|
Hey there.
I noticed, that on one of my systems, a connected USB device is not mounted automatically. I have no idea, where to look for the reason for this misbehaviour, so I hope to get a hint here.
I use the following software:
- gentoo-sources 3.18.16 (CONFIG_AUTOFS4_FS is compiled into the kernel. I also tried a clean new kernel config, which had no effect at all.)
- openrc 0.17
- KDE 4.14.8
Of course, the filesystems on the devices are supported and my user is a member of the "plugdev" group.
Best regards,

emerge --info ? What make_profile are you using?
What special USE flags are you using? Trying to opt out of consolekit/polkit?
Tried emerge --newuse --deep --update world ? _________________ Intel Core i7 2700K@ 4.1GHz/HD3000 graphics/8GB DDR3/180GB SSD

The used profile is default/linux/amd64/13.0/desktop/kde.
What do you mean with Quote: | What special USE flags are you using? Trying to opt out of consolekit/polkit? | ?
A world update (emerge -avuND world) does not change anything.

tw04l124,
unfortunately this had no effect. I have to add, that my other Gentoo system works well - automount is no problem there. On that system, /etc/polkit-1/rules.d/50-default.rules only contains
Code: | /* -*- mode: js; js-indent-level: 4; indent-tabs-mode: nil -*- */
// DO NOT EDIT THIS FILE, it will be overwritten on update
//
// Default rules for polkit
//
// See the polkit(8) man page for more information
// about configuring polkit.
polkit.addAdminRule(function(action, subject) {
return ["unix-user:0"];
}); |
Best regards,

mirekm, on my system, where the problem persists, I have not installed pykde4. On my laptop, which works fine, pykde4 is installed. I also deactivated all plasmoids (except the clock), but that did not help.
I noticed something, which could lead to the cause of my problem: when I execute "udisksctl mount --block-device /dev/sdb1", I get "Object /org/freedesktop/UDisks2/block_devices/sdb1 is not a mountable filesystem."
The device is formatted with NTFS and mounting it by using "mount" works fine.
Best regards,
