Hostapd will not let me use any channels greater than 7. If I try I get messages like "wlan0: IEEE 802.11 Configured channel (11) not found from the channel list of current mode (1) IEEE 802.11g". Using an Atheros AR9285. Everything is working, but in my area there is a lot of congestion on the lower channels and it would help a great deal if I could use a higher one. I do have country_code=US set in hostapd.conf. Output of iw list:
