As in subject, sftp works on the local network, but I cannot
connect to remote computer. Makes it hard to administer
my webpages :) No problem with konq 3.5.10.

When I try I get this message in konqueror:

Code:
The requested operation could not be completed
Request Aborted By User

I'm really hoping this isn't just yet another missing or broken feature
from 4.2.

any help appreciated, TIA.

EDIT: somehow kpasswdserver did not get installed when I upgraded to 4.2.
Emerging it fixed the problem.

Holy Dead-Thread revival :o

Six years later, I had the same problem - fish:// would fail, with "Aborted by User" message.

Same fix: emerging kde-apps/kpasswdserver fixed it. I wonder if it makes sense to have kde-apps/kpasswdserver as a dependency of kde-apps/konqueror?

Now that we're in the middle of 2015, the relevant versions are:

kde-apps/konqueror-4.14.3
kde-apps/kpasswdserver-4.14.3

Many thanks for your tip, albright!! It's ~still~ relevant!
