Hi

I try move from disrcate graphic driver to integrated intel driver. First thing edit the VIDEO_CARDS=intel and remove nouveau driver, and mesa. After @preserved-rebuild the driver installed, i put the 20-intel.conf into xorg.conf.d
and startx with manual. Black screen after start the X, and sleep the monitor just some seconds. Same problem with global xorg.conf. Just enought and I probebly back up my latest settings. Remove Intel driver, mesa, modified the make.conf , reemerge nouveau driver and mesa. Run emerge @x11-module-rebuild and run startx. The driver loaded and X started, but mouse and keyboard not recognized. I tried same times but doesn't happen anything.

In make.conf

INPUT_DEVICES=mouse keyboard

and i running the busybox mdev.

What's the problem?

Have you tried running without any /etc/X11/xorg.conf to see what happens? It may yield some additional insight into your particular problem.

Cheers,

He needs xorg.conf to load mouse and keyboard, only evdev loads without xorg.conf but he is not using it.

You should paste what "grep EE /var/log/Xorg.0.log" does.

And btw u should just use "VIDEO_CARDS=intel nouveau" - u can use 2 cards, and why u removed mesa for intel ?
And dont forget also to use "eselect opengl XXX" after switching

stephan-t,

Lets not work through a keyhole.
Use wgetpaste to post the following

the output of emerge --info
the content of /var/log/Xorg.0.log
your /usr/src/linux/.config
your xorg.conf, if you have one.

Each of those are too big to fit into a post.

Your lspci output might be useful too.

Code:
INPUT_DEVICES=mouse keyboard

I do not think this variable is set properly.

stephan-t,

With Gentoo, a fresh install fixes nothing. It only provides you the opportunity not to make the same mistake again.
An conversely, many opportunities to make a new mistake. :)

With gentoo you need to build on what works and fix it when it doesn't work.

stephan-t,

If helpers need more information to help you they will ask and suggest how you might provide it.

If your issue in still not fixed, post the information we need to help you fix it.
Thats the same list as in my last post.
