dobar dan. some days ago install gentoo. think it is the best distribution that i used. but.../always this but/ have some problems. the main- best for me enviroment not work. try to explain. as example-

/* tagging */
static const char *tags[] = { "0", "1", "2" };

if, after power on laptop, run application, for example xterm, in tag window number "0" -it will not start. this situation same with any programm. but:
if after power on with mouse change to "1" or "2" tag screen- all works fine.
else, please, anybody, need backup gentooers...

Don't start counting the tags from 0. 0 is used to select all available tags, so with the way you configured it there may be some issues (race conditions possiblly). Try not to zero index the tags and report back.

P.S. I'm not sure this is the problem, but it is worth a try.

* tagging */

Now I'm just thinking out loud.

Does it work with default config.h? If yes try with your configuration and no xinerama flag, but also enable xinerama but use default config.h. This way you'll know exactly where the problem lies. If it's your config please post the whole config.h, along with use patches.

hm. not at home, but on working laptop with untouched fully default standart not-addings-buttons&functions:
equo- only when tapped on 2 tag; emerge with xinerama- same situation; emerge no xinerama- work perfect. where is problem- do not know...

Are you saying one of the laptops works with your config, and the other doesn't, yet both have the exact same config?

That would make me say config.h is fine, and that the drivers are to blame.
Are you using the same drivers on both laptops? What about xorg version?

Your config should work. Make the exact same environment on both laptops and if one works but the other fails, dwm is the wrong place to look for error. That would leave Xorg and drivers.

uf, it was a long day. so, finally we have this situation (all with default config):
1 laptop. equo or emerge+xinerama work only in "tap on 2 tag then...". build without xinerama work perfect.
2 laptop. neither equo nor emerge +/- xinerama not work. all of them start, but even run xterm need to tap on not-first-tag.
(xineramaproto 1.2.1.r-1,libxinerama 1.1.3,dwm 6.0, on 2 laptop before dwm must emerge x86-video-intel-without this display show only tty interface,command line).
maybe not help, but from 2 case, when emerge appeared next words (sorry if make some trouble for people here, but run dwm is high priority task for now for me):

I have no more ideas, but my bet is still that there's some driver related bug.
