I have a pair of HVR-1600's which I used up until a few years ago. (I have a HDHomeRun Prime, now.) I never saw a message like this, and I had both NTSC and QAM sides of the card running. Your error doesn't look to be in the driver proper, rather in the ioctl processing of v4l-core. Of course it's likely that the driver is causing v4l-core to crash. _________________ .sigs waste space and bandwidth |

I'm marking this as solved, although I still don't know the cause.
I was experimenting with mdev and noticed the error was gone and I only had expected messages about the HVR-1600 and cx18. I reinstalled eudev and the error message came back!
Switched back to mdev and the error is gone again. I conclude that there is a bug in the current eudev and mdev is a workaround. |
