I'm trying to install gentoo on my new laptop. But the installcd is not booting.
I found this: https://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic-t-919588-start-0.html
but his issue is after installation. Mine is before :/
And I tried booting from my old laptop with it and it was fine.

Try sysrescue or some other linux to boot and bootstrap from that.
Chances are your hardware is too new and the installer cd doesnt have the disk drivers you need. It would be helpful to list your hardware. _________________ Intel Core i7 2700K/Radeon R7 250/24GB DDR3/256GB SSD

I think you're right. I booted into Fedora 22 just fine. Its running kernel 4.0.4
What kernel is gentoo running?
Is there a way I can compile a kernel for the livecd? Or do I have to wait? |

if you can boot your fedora, just install from it, no need any "gentoo" cd to install gentoo. |

How will that work?
I understand just creating a partition and extracting the tarball.
But I'm a little vague on the chrooting.. |
