The Gentoo penguin

I have a question for you guys that has absolutely nothing to do with anything but I am curious all the same....

Where did the Gentoo penguin come from? Who originally designed him? I've seen that penguin on a ton of sites but nobody has ever claimed to have designed him. There's your trivia question for the day

hmmm... I couldn't find him there. I'm interested in who originally rendered him. A rather nice tux if you ask me

Gentoo doesn't have its own penguin logo. Tux is the Linux logo, so Gentoo wears it also.

Gentoo's logo is the "G" above and the mascot is Larry the cow. http://www.gentoo.org/main/en/about.xml
