See post #2 for workaround and bug.

This seems completely random to me. I have no idea where to look when this bugs out but basically the media manager which is in my tray *sometimes* shows the eject button and sometimes does not. This would seem like a permissions issue but it is completely randomly working and sometimes not. I have googled around have not found any really concrete answers. Is there some policy file related to PAM in /etc maybe I lost some configuration to an update? Anyone who has this working reliably I'd like to know if you had to do anything special, or if there is a file to check settings in.

Here is the plugging in of a flash drive:

dmesg:
Code:

Workaround https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=344438#c1

When you log in to KDE, make sure to leave your iPhone or iPad not plugged in. You can plug it in afterwords.

I am going to guess this applies to any device that exposes a interface to a file system like PTP or MTP or even just a file system that cannot be mounted due to needing special parameters D-Bus does not know about. Log into KDE without it plugged in and you will not break this subsystem. Then you can plug it in after successful login.
