Hi,

I just installed openoffice-bin-4.1.1 and it gives me no indication what the executable is now called. Nothing at the end of the ebuild, no man page.

on my previous Gentoo incarnation it installed libreoffice rather than openoffice but I can't find anything that starts the suite and searching does not give me the answer.

Suggestions please.

TIA, Gentree. 8)

I really wouldn't recommend that old horse. ;)

For libreoffice:
Code:
$ loffice

Even 'soffice' still works, might be the same for openoffice.

Code:
bash: soffice: command not found
bash-4.3#loffice
bash: loffice: command not found

Code:
equery files openoffice-bin | grep /usr/bin/
should give you a clue.

I"d found /usr/lib/openoffice/program/soffice.bin but obviously not that helpful.

Code:
#equery files openoffice-bin | grep /usr/bin/
/usr/bin/oobase
/usr/bin/oocalc
/usr/bin/oodraw
/usr/bin/ooffice
/usr/bin/ooffice-printeradmin
/usr/bin/ooimpress
/usr/bin/oomath
/usr/bin/oowriter

many thanks John, oowriter . 8)
