|
|
Good weekend all, basically I've been able to piece together a Dec Alpha box through ebay (mostly because I've always wanted one and I was curious to see if I could a PCI Geforce working on one) but anyway, in the meantime I have a Matrox Millenium in this box just to get everything working but I have a problem on getting X running and Google is for once very little help. The issue is the same in the title;
Code: | [ 631.728] (II) Loading /usr/lib/xorg/modules/drivers/mga_drv.so
[ 631.729] (EE) Failed to load /usr/lib/xorg/modules/drivers/mga_drv.so: /usr/lib/xorg/modules/drivers/mga_drv.so: undefined symbol: xf86WriteMmio16 |
When I try to use the VESA driver I get a very similar message with;
Code: | [ 1945.398] (II) Loading /usr/lib/xorg/modules/libint10.so
[ 1945.420] (EE) Failed to load /usr/lib/xorg/modules/libint10.so: /usr/lib/xorg/modules/libint10.so: undefined symbol: xf86WriteMmio16 |
The xorg use flags are;
Code: | [ebuild R ~] x11-base/xorg-server-1.17.1-r1:0/1.17.1::gentoo USE="glamor ipv6 nptl suid udev xorg -dmx -doc -kdrive -minimal (-selinux) -static-libs -systemd -tslib (-unwind) (-wayland) -xephyr -xnest -xvfb" 0 KiB |
I'm at a loss, I'm not above switching to x11-xorg instead, but curious if I could fix this instead!
Cheers,
Chris |

To confirm: have you built xf86-video-mga (or -vesa) after you built xorg-server-1.17.1-r1? |

I'm pretty sure I had, however. Since I'm not 100% sure I'll go off and get that done now (I was trying to get the last stable version of xorg running but its a nightmare rolling back).
I'll update here once all the compiling is finished (fingers crossed ccache will help here). |

After lots of compiling, yeah its still the same problem.
Should I raise a ticket about it or something simple I'm doing wrong? I found a 9yr old email with netbsd about this issue but nothing since. |
