Hi,

Been a while since I emerged a new Gentoo system so I may be missing something.

To get syslog-ng to create separate log files (in this case specifically for a mailrelay system) instructions I'm finding still says to emerge with "hardened" but that doesn't seem to be an option for me as shown below.

Have things changed as to how logs can be split up in syslog-ng? If so can somebody please point me to some good documentation on how to set things up now?

Thanks,

C

------------------Start Terminal output----------------------

mailrelay00 ~ # emerge -pv syslog-ng

These are the packages that would be merged, in order:

Calculating dependencies... done!
[ebuild R ] app-admin/syslog-ng-3.6.4::gentoo USE="ipv6 ssl tcpd -amqp -caps -dbi -geoip -json -mongodb -pacct -redis -smtp -spoof-source -systemd" 0 KiB

Total: 1 package (1 reinstall), Size of downloads: 0 KiB

* IMPORTANT: 13 news items need reading for repository 'gentoo'.
* Use eselect news read to view new items.

----------------End Terminal output------------------------

Logs are split based on the directions in the syslog-ng.conf. In the past, USE=hardened enabled an alternate configuration file. You can still set individual destinations per source by customizing your configuration.
