I am trying to install kodi on my laptop but get this error message -
This is after adding these two USE flags to make.conf: cpu_flags_x86_sse2, cpu_flags_x86_sse.
Code:
pump emerge -av media-tv/kodi

I unmerged libav and emerged ffmpeg and here USE flags in make.conf:
Code:
USE="-gtk -gnome qt4 kde cdrom dvd alsa cdr -bindist sse2 lm_sensors
-libav cpu_flags_x86_sse cpu_flags_x86_sse2"
CPU_FLAGS_X86="sse2"

Still get the same error and can not install kodi.
Please advise if there any way to fix it or need to open a bug?

  The following REQUIRED_USE flag constraints are unsatisfied:
    cpu_flags_x86_sse2? ( cpu_flags_x86_sse )

This should be fixed by:
Code:
CPU_FLAGS_X86="sse sse2"

If you have not read the news item "CPU_FLAGS_X86 introduction", do it.
"cpuinfo2cpuflags-x86" should have told you which flags should be enabled for your cpu ;)

Code:
cpu_flags_x86_sse? ( cpu_flags_x86_mmxext ) cpu_flags_x86_mmxext? ( cpu_flags_x86_mmx )

This will then need more flags to be enabled, ending up with:
Code:
CPU_FLAGS_X86="sse sse2 mmxext mmx"

Post the output with the changed use flags.

lagalopex Hi,

I am in vacation and planned to read some classic literature
(like kafka - I found some similarity between kafka's labyrinth stories to gentoo's implementation :) )
and now need to replace it by gentoo news :wink:
OK - I read it and did the following:
removed cpu_flags_x86_sse cpu_flags_x86_sse2 from USE flags
(though maybe need it for a while, according news),
and according output of cpuinfo2cpuflags-x86, I added this separate line to make.conf:
Code:
CPU_FLAGS_X86="mmx mmxext sse sse2"

Then installation of kodi run ok! :)

BTW: I saw that samba has been installed:
Is it essential for kodi, or can be canceled, by any USE flag,
if no need of windows os network connections?

Thanks

If you answered my "question": That was no question from me... it was an answer to:
