Hi,

i've installed a hardened-gentoo, using the hardened-profile, obviously.

I'd like to install XFCE.

I know there are some problems with potential profiles that were tested, having both "hardened" and "desktop" USE flags, the latter overriding the earlier, for instance with JIT. Which is apparently why no .../hardened.../desktop profiles exists. (https://blogs.gentoo.org/blueness/2014/02/07/the-gentoo-profile-stacking-problem/)

It is suggested one should go about it the other way. Select a desktop profile. Then apply some Hardened USE flags.

In practice, how should I proceed ?

Thanks in advance.

H

Take hardened no-multilib stage3 and install gentoo according to handbook. I don't know about XFCE, but KDE works fine.
I don't see any "desktop" profile on hardened branch as for present.
