What are some nice Mame frontends available in Linux? Right now I am using AdvanceMenu but I would like something nicer if possible. |

gxmame looks nice....I'll check it out.
I like mameWah but it seems it was lasted updated in 2009 for linux.
I saw some cool screenshots of advanceMenu which looked cool.....I don't know why mine looks so plain. |

I was using Version 0.2.12 of GMAMEUI (ebuild and three patches posted a couple of years ago in Gentoo Bugzilla Bug Report No. 213622) with Version 0.148_p1-r1 of SDLMAME, but I can't get gmameui-0.2.12 to merge any more and it hasn't been upgraded since October 2009 so I suppose it's dead. I recently upgraded to Version 0.159 of SDLMAME and am now using Version 0.49 of QMC2, which is quite nice, although I found GMAMEUI a bit easier to use. Details in sdlmame 0.148 - How old is this?. _________________ Clevo W230SS: amd64, VIDEO_CARDS="intel modesetting nvidia".

OpenRC udev elogind & KDE on both.

Are you using this in Gentoo?

Hmm.... what differences do you notice from .148? I kinda don't want to do the upgrade since .148 is working now on my Gentoo system(although finding .148 roms is another story). |

I'm using the build script they provide, since there's no ebuild for it. Same amount of work either way. |

I don't notice any difference, but then I only use it occasionally to play Frogger and Pac-Mania. If what you've got at the moment works, I'd stick with it. Which ROMS don't work for you with SDLMAME 0.148? The handful I downloaded work OK. If you tell me which ones they are and where to download them, I can try them out with SDLMAME 0.159 to see if they work. _________________ Clevo W230SS: amd64, VIDEO_CARDS="intel modesetting nvidia".

Which version are you using? I see they don't have anything under linux->stable. |
