An alternative is to install in on a 32 bits or multilib chroot _________________ Kind regards,

While a multilib system can be daunting, I found this forum post to be very helpful is setting one up properly. I originally had emul-linux-x86-* packages installed, but recently removed them in favor of multilib.

For installing Skype, you need to unmask app-emulation/emul-linux-x86-qtlibs in package.unmask; after masking all emul-linux-x86-* packages. This is referred to the as the "Qt exception" in the above post. Afterwards Skype emerges normally and works for me. |
