Mate Desktop and VNC

In Gnome2 there is a System->Preference->RemoteDesktop applet that works very well with other VNC viewers (UltraVnc, TightVnc, RealVnc, TigerVnc) both to/from other Linux systems and Windows systems. On the Mate desktop, the System->Preference->RemoteDesktop does not exist. I hope the Mate project intends to bring this feature back. In the meantime I have tried to use other solutions such as Tiger vnc server (x0vncserver) and x11vnc. Tiger vnc has some issues with the keyboard (keys incorrectly translated). Both of the packages have issues with copy and paste not working. Has anyone got one of these or perhaps some other package working correctly with Mate, or at least as well as with the Gnome2 applet ?
