|
|
Hello everyone!
I've been having some trouble with my laptop Gentoo installation using KDE4:
Problems:
- Cannot adjust screen brightness using the battery monitor (even though powerdevil is running)
- Buttons like sleep, suspend to RAM aren't present in Kickoff application menu
Different Notes:
- I can adjust screen brightness using keyboard shortcuts
- I have pm-utils, sys-power/acpid installed
- I can suspend to RAM using pm-suspend
my rc-status https://bpaste.net/show/ad235df687a0
dmesg warning
Code: | [ 26.163120] ACPI Warning: \_SB_.PCI0.PEG0.PEGP._DSM: Argument #4 type mismatch - Found [Buffer], ACPI requires [Package] (20140926/nsarguments-95)
[ 26.173345] pci 0000:01:00.0: Refused to change power state, currently in D0 |
Any help is appreciated
EDIT: Solved by re-installing Windows! j/k, I had to add
Code: | acpi_osi='!Windows 2012' |
to the kernel boot parameters in grub
Maybe someone could add this tip to the wiki entry http://wiki.gentoo.org/wiki/Intel#Brightness_doesn.27t_change_with_keyboard_shortcuts
EDIT 2:
As for Sleep, Hibernate; All I did was:
Code: | emerge -C sys-power/upower && emerge sys-power/upower-pm-utils |
