Hi All,
The latest iso image from 2016/01/06 has problem with fdisk.
The fdisk from util-linux-2.26.2 package can't create the BSD disklabel.
This is not a problem specific only for the Alpha architecture.
The fdisk from util-linux-2.27.1 package on Fedora 23 has the same defect.
Best regards

Try parted?
Not 100% sure it's on the iso image but the standard fdisk was meant for MBR PCs and their removable media... _________________ Intel Core i7 2700K/Radeon R7 250/24GB DDR3/256GB SSD

Parted works well but it does not change the fact that fdisk works badly _________________ My Alphas: ES40 4x833 MHz EV68AL, 4 GB RAM, 4-way, main memory, Radeon HD4350 1 GB RAM/ 3dfx Voodoo3 3000, Seagate 36 GB hard disk/ 8 x 146.8 GB on Smart Array 5300A.

Hi,
For Information, the same thing for me.
I had to use an old fdisk (that of the gentoo-minimal-CD of 2011) to succeed to create a BSD disklabel.
