I started using grails at work and noticed that I could not install it in gentoo. I found this though http://gpo.zugaina.org/unity-base/grail. How do I setup my gentoo computer to install this? (any pointers would help) There are also things like hadoop, accumulo, solr, and pentaho used at work that I would like to mess with in gentoo eventually. |

I'm not a grails user, so take this with a grain of salt.
It looks like the gvm is the way to go, so much of your environment is determined by the 'user' or yourself, as opposed to the system, i.e., an ebuild you would install as root with emerge. I suggest you get your java environment set up the way you like, looking for tips in that regard on the wiki http://wiki.gentoo.org/wiki/Java, or the forums, and then follow the gvm install instructions https://grails.org/download.html to set up your grails environment to your liking.
