So, for the past 5 hours now I've tried getting everything too work with startx, originally it was due too me not having the intel driver, which I soon fixed. Now startx /will not/ find my monitor, and refuses too start.

I can provide anything else needed! I *really* need to get his up and running as soon as possible, and any help is appreciated. I've looked into it for hours and am just lost at this point!

RainbowDashDC ... it looks to me as though you are missing inteldrmfb in the kernel ...

Code:
cat /proc/fb
0 inteldrmfb

So, enable CONFIG_AGP, CONFIG_AGP_INTEL, CONFIG_DRM, CONFIG_DRM_I915, CONFIG_DRM_I915_KMS, CONFIG_DRM_I915_FBDEV ... you should also disable any other framebuffer, though CONFIG_FB_EFI shouldn't cause any harm (it is safe to disable it however).

best ... khay

Do you have KMS enabled in your kernel. As you can see below your X exits where my X goes KMS.

Code:
[1070569.956] (--) using VT number 7

[1070569.970] (II) intel(0): Using Kernel Mode Setting driver: i915, version 1.6.0 20140725
[1070569.972] (--) intel(0): Integrated Graphics Chipset: Intel(R) Pineview G

I believe so, but could you clarify the steps to do so if they differ from what people told me to enable in the kernel already?

I already had the KMS intel one enabled and the framebuffer devices, so really confused why it wouldn't be at this point

You are not running the kernel you think you are, DRM is disabled in your running kernel.

This is odd then.. I'm using http://wiki.gentoo.org/wiki/Sakaki%27s_EFI_Install_Guide and I feel like this may be part of the problem

Can't help here, there are several ways to set up UEFI boot, you have to do what is needed to update/upgrade the kernel image for your setup.

It's not the EFI issue, it seems to be the buildkernel script I'm using to work it, or... Wait, no, it's an old kernel being on the USB I am 50% sure this is because of me leaving an old kernel on it

devices_no_vesa.conf from the intel page which I used earlier was causing modules to not be used on x, but now they are and evyerthing seems too be work!

To overal recap, incase someone else has this:

When using buildkernel by the guide it says too use bootx64.efi at first which will most likely not have the intel drivers yet, then it switches to gentoo.efi later on. On my machine it did NOT update to use the gentoo.efi file later on, make sure you change your system too use the gentoo.efi instead of bootx64.efi.

Also, with my GPU devices_no_vesa.conf breaks x to not use fbdev and vesa.

Regardless, thank you all for the help!
