Lol !
I am not sure if there is a one-size-fits all solution for that
So I guess it depends on what you are trying to organise.
Just some ideas:
You can think about using Thunderbird with lightning calendar ( on the website it says: "Organize your life — it’s about time!" ) .
Personally I use owncloud as my 'cloud' calendar so that it syncs with my mobile devices and with the families calendars also on owncloud.
It can sync with calender-applications, but can also be used as a centralised 'web' calendar.
It also features 'contacts' synced with your phone. This also makes them somewhat easier to manage (using a laptop in stead of a phone), but I usually still end up with multiple entries for a number of contacts.

WOW This is really nice! I did not know Thunderbird has it - I activated it and see that it has also Tasks. A little hope for "Organize my life..."
Now I see why It took long time to emerge Thunderbird - Not just email...
Before seeing your post, I installed gtg personal orgnaizer - but Thunderbird is better.
Going to learn about owncloud

app-emacs/org-mode is an option... you'd have to learn emacs for it though. |

Honestly, just find a calendar app you like to use (Thunderbird works fine) and live out of it. |
