I have just installed Gentoo using the Handbook:AMD64 (btw: marvelous documentation!)
and stumbled on "Pulling validated portage tree snapshots" https://wiki.gentoo.org/wiki/Handbook:AMD64/Working/Features
So far I have followed all steps in the documentation and gpg has not been installed yet.
Maybe a reference to installing gpg using emerge crypt/gnupg like described at https://wiki.gentoo.org/wiki/GnuPG could be added? _________________ Peter Martin

Best bet is to file a documentation bug. |

Excellent, nice bug report :-)
Wait a couple of weeks, as it's new year. |

Thanks! It has been changed already!
PS: I have done bug reports for software before, doing so for documentation was a new experience _________________ Peter Martin

Cool; yeah it's a bit odd at first, but then it makes a lot of sense. Feel free to file more, especially with patches to the GuideXML or wiki source. |
